The coordinator for the 2014 Ghana Basketball and Leadership Camp, McMartey Lawer, is delighted with the mad rush for forms ahead of the second edition of the prestigious camp in Ghana.

At least 100 players (both boys and girls) are expected to take part in the seven-day intensive exercise at the Adisadel College in Cape Coast.

Enthusiasm have reached an epoch stage with players anxiously trooping in to the offices of Rite Multimedia to grab their forms ahead of the hugely anticipated exciting camp in the coastal region of Ghana.

The numbers are expected to sky-rocket next week as schools will vacate by the close of the week to allow them to finalize their involvement in the seven-day exercise.

The chief coordinator for the second edition of the camp, McMartey Lawer is delighted with the progress made so far and confident they will exceed their target.

“We’re still in the process of adding up the numbers and we’re hopeful that we’ll exceed our target,” Lawer told BASKETBALLghana.com

“We have been inundated with so many calls and have started translating into registration.

“We have said we’re looking at only 100 participants but we may exceed that from the interest shown by players.

“The schools will vacate latest by this week and so you should expect more to come and register.

“This is a unique platform for ambitious players to gain educational scholarships both home and abroad and so we’ll entreat as many people to come and register as possible.

“In this part of our world, people like to sit on the fence and then rush in to register at the eleventh hour. That’s what we want to avoid this year.

“The deadline is August 10 and we’ll keep to that. We are discipline organization and so those interested must not waste time at all.

He added: I’m thrilled with the level of interest shown by these players. It’s amazing how basketball has woven through the fabric of the youth in Ghana.

“This visit of Chris Bosh for the second edition of the Sprite Ball Clinic three weeks ago amplifies the level that we want to take the game.”
