Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation Media Coordinator Sandy Asiedu has congratulated Yale Paralympic Sports Lab (YPSL) and Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) on organizing a successful wheelchair tournament recently.
The annual event was held at the SCSU Gymnasium and Asiedu passed on the congratulatory message after witnessing the clinic in person.
He stated in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com, “want to use this opportunity to congratulate YPSL Global and SCSU for a successful clinic which will surely be replicated by Yale (University) in the coming months”.
Asiedu reports certified Wheelchair Basketball Coach Paul Weiland has indicated his willingness to work with Ghana’s Federation to develop the sport.
Weiland is a Physical Education instructor with adaptive Physical Education certification and has extensive coaching stints at High Schools and Colleges in the United States.
He was part of the USA Paralympics Wheelchair Basketball Selection Committee in 2008 and doubles as a player for Connecticut Spoke benders Wheelchair Basketball Team.
Asiedu moved to the USA to strike a partnership deal between Yale University’s YPSL and the Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation recently.
