Kumasi Girls’ Senior High School’s basketball team returned to training to continue preparations for the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship.
The ladies from Ghana’s royal region, Ashanti Region have been busy getting themselves ready for the nation’s biggest basketball games which is set to take place between January 5-7, 2016 at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
The team started residential camping on December 19 but took a break from camp on December 24 to enable players go to their families during the Christmas holidays.
In camp, the ladies have been taken through strenous exercises aimed at improving their stamina and strength. They have also been tutored on areas they underperformed in the regional qualifiers like rebounding.
Since returning, the team is focusing more on the tactical side of the game, focusing more on specific play calls.
KUGISS have been drawn in Group C where the team will come up against Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School, Awudome Senior High School and 2012 finalist Tema Senior High School.
